XML Sitemap Checker
Inspect a public XML sitemap or sitemap index for HTTP availability, XML structure, sitemap type, URL entries and common structural signals.
How to use this tool
Enter a public sitemap URL when you know it. You can also enter a website homepage and the checker will look for sitemap locations listed in robots.txt and common WordPress sitemap paths.
1. Enter a URLUse a full public website URL such as https://example.com/ or a direct sitemap URL such as https://example.com/sitemap.xml.
2. Run the checkClick Check Sitemap. The tool fetches the public response and inspects the XML returned by the server.
3. Read the resultsReview HTTP status, content type, XML validity, sitemap type, loc values, duplicates, entry counts and lastmod visibility.
Tip: If you enter the homepage, discovery uses Sitemap directives from robots.txt plus common paths such as /wp-sitemap.xml, /sitemap.xml and /sitemap_index.xml. The checker does not prove indexing, crawling or search-engine acceptance.
Use the full public URL, including https://. Private, localhost and internal IP targets are blocked.
